i was thinking my motor needs more air. would it get more air from a cai or i was thinking of fabricating a top mount intercooler and piping it to the tb. i would create a hood scoop too for more flow. just asking if this would work well or not. thanx

No, an intercooler without a turbocharger will just obstruct the airflow going into the engine. Your best bet is a CAI or short-ram intake.

Not to mention cooling intake air with air the same temperature doesn't do much cooling does it?

If you are looking for a cheap alternative, you can just remove the stock airbox and modify it so the filter is open. There is a guide somewhere how to do it, but it is fairly simple. Just use zip ties to hold the air filter inplace.

Just get a CAI, and fab it up like the AEM CAI. Its in the perfect location, right infront of the driver side air vent infront of the wheel well. And most importantly its outside of the engine bay.

+1 for top mount intercooler :thumb:

That's funny shit, Xman, but let's try to keep things on the technical tip in here. Those of us NT guys on tuners who know our shit owe it to ourselves to show everyone else what's up. :thumb:

My bad brian...you guys don't listen to me, just some random bored at work babbling goin on by me LOL. In all honesty, just as my opinion...even if you were to go turbo, I wouldn't even bother with all the fabrication etc req'd to do a top mount intercooler install. Just look at all the scooby guys that "upgrade" to a fmic setup ;)
[/technical rant]
