I just bought a new Dejon Intake and i bought it with RECIRC port only. I totally forgot about the VC venting hose and the cannister hose on the rubber stock intake. I've been doing some searching and found that the cannister one is no big deal but the VC venting hose is and seen some other drivers use a canadian tire fuel filter and hooked it up along that and then what do you do with the end of that hose. let it sit there freely as a breather?

I would have a bung welded in. You definitely want to have that hose connected from the valve cover to the intake, with some sort of catch can in the middle, not sit there freely. The husky one is a popular, and cheap one used on these boards.

I like my breather :D ("mini K&N")

They are only like 6 bucks at the auto parts store and look real nice. Haven't had problems with oil coming out.

You may "like it", and it may "look real nice" but you are sacrificing proper ventilation for looks. Not only do you run the possibility of coating you engine bay in oil, but when that filter gets saturated with oil, and it will, you will have drastically decreased the ability for your crankcase to properly ventilate. Secondly, you are losing air that has already been accounted for, the same as venting a BOV. Running the line to the intake allows you to keep the air already accounted for, as well as slightly help pull air out of the valve cover due to vacuum generated by the intake/turbo. Install a catch can in the middle of the hose, and be done with it.

As for catch can setups, I like my simple little one.

I'd have an engine bay covered in oil.

I think I paid $10 for that from Harbor Freight. I took the little filter element out of it and pointed the arrow towards the valve cover. The filter element was too restrictive, plus it filters out the oil better running that way. I sealed the little drain in the bottom because it wasn't air tight, and it would leak oil. It just needed a dab of RTV.

So far, no oil in the intake. I'll make a bracket now that I know it works.
