I want to get the injen piping ( http://www.dsmtuners.com/parts/product_info.php?cPath=3_141_53&products_id=471) for my intake and put the HKS Super Mega Flow Filter on there.
My question is about the BOV. I know on certain piping you can choose one that only works with the stock BOV or the one that only works with an aftermarket BOV but it doesnt really look like theres an option on the injen piping. Anyone know if its for the stock or aftermarket BOV?

Not to be an ass but that is an intake. The BOV mounts on the intercooler piping. You won't need to buy anything. Just take your intake off and put that one on. I recommend getting a K&N filter for it though instead of an HKS one. HKS is basically a foam POS filter behind a metal screen. Plus K&N is washable and reuseable. Best filter out there in my opinion.

oh ok, i thought the BOV was on the air intake for some reason...what about the Greddy filter?

Maybe what you were thinking about was recirculating the BOV. The BOV mounts in the pipe after the turbo and intercooler, and it blows into the intake pipe (the Injen part you are buying). If you don't have the proper supporting mods and you are wanting to vent back into the intake pipe, you need an intake that will allow you to do this.

I put an Injen intake on my car when I first started modding, and got flamed on here for not venting back into the intake. It's personal preference. It may not be right, but it's what I chose to do temporarily until I got my MAFT.

As far as the filter goes, 6 to 1, half a dozen to the other.

Did you have the option of recirculating the BOV with the intake? Because ive heard the MAFT's arent cheap.

I dont understand what your saying about the filters...excuse my newbieness
K&N, GReddy, or the Injen filter is best?

I'm rocking an ebay cone filter myself. theres really no big differences between any big name brands. i tend to lean towards k&n myself. so if you want name brand ill put in 2 cents for k&n

I'm saying that it doesn't matter what filter you go with, you won't notice a difference either way.

I bought my pipe from some guy so I didn't have a choice to recirculate. I didn't notice any ill effects of blowing off into the atmosphere, but like I said, people on this site seem to think it's as much a sin as murder to do so.

The MAFT was only $300.

You would think different if you have ever tested a filter. Hook a filter to a vacuum and then kick up some dust and see how much gets through. It's amazing how much a K&K stops and ebay filters and even some NAPA and Autozone filters let through.

did your car run noticeably smoother after installing it?

No, but there were other factors involved. When I installed the MAFT, I also installed new piping, a GM 3" MAF, reset my SAFC to 0 across the board, rough tuned with the MAFT, then fine-tuned with the SAFC.

So it wasn't just plug in the MAFT and go, there were lots of other things that came into play. Yes, it ran much different, as expected, but it never ran rough before I put on the MAFT.

Sorry to revive an old post, but I have a pretty simple question regarding my injen intake. Starting with mods, Injen intake w/o bov tube, APEXI dual stage bov, act 2600, 272/272 comp cams, arp studs, ported exhman, 02 dump, diy uic hose replacing stock bends, cat back exh. The head was taken off and rebuilt, cams replaced, etc. after a timing belt/exhmanifold gasket replacement snowballed(broke exh studs off:cry:). I was ofcourse another ignorant ricer when I was younger(2001?)and wanted the whooshing sound, not even bothering to research the results it would have on my idle, etc. Now less than 500 miles after the head work, WOW, am I runnin rich and idlin like crap. This leads me to my question. I ordered a maf-t, gm 3"maf, and plan to build the uicp system myself. The only thing stoppin me is I hate to replace the injen intake pipe. Does anybody know of an adapter or filter that will fit this intake, thanks for any info.
