Im confused, the intake box was connected to the inside of my passenger side quarter panel, but now that i put the intake on it is useless? what was the thing it was connected to, and do i have to find a way to connect it?

If I'm understanding correctly, the "thing" that it was connected to was the side mount intercooler. Did you get an intake for a gst/gsx/tsi, or did you get one for an rs/gs?

Pics would really help to understand..

As far as that kit goes, you remove your airbox, MAF, and the tubing down to the turbo inlet, replace with that kit, MAF goes on left side of kit, recirc tube goes in the Y slot, and filter goes on the end. No idea what you mean by connected to your passenger quarter panel, unless you are referring to the UICP, which you shouldn't have touched at all in install.

Ok, and im having problems with 2 hoses, ill post those as well.

Looks like previous owner may have had a CAI or some thing over there. you have it all set up properly, just missing the filter. In the last picture, that orange tubing is for the PCV valve, the black hose like 2 inches to the right in that picture would be the valve, that typically gets routed back into the intake, or into a catch can depending on the setup. The other line I believe goes to your boost control solenoid. Not 100% positive, perhaps someone else can chime in.

Im soooooooooooooooooooooooo confused now.... I just looked at that tube and followed it, and it never went to the intake, and if i used the tube for something else id just have a hole in my intake...

SMH @ previous response. The intake pipe you bought has an EXTRA nipple on it. Cap one off. Remove "silencer box" or STOCK in-fender intake pipe. That was a factory placed object to pull fresh air into the intake.

BINGO. The pipe from your first picture is no longer needed. It just feeds fresh air into the factory air box.

K so then what do i connect the hose in the last picture to....?

One hose goes from the intake to the valve cover breather port on passenger side of the valve cover and the other is for emissions, it goes to the larger port on the intake pipe I believe. To make it fit just remove the insert from the hose that was used to affix it to the stock rubber intake pipe.

Thanks, but im having an impossible time disconnecting the largest stock hose thats for emissions or whatever. and the valve cover port hose doesnt fit correctly with the new hose. and the connector on the end of the hose doesnt come out :(

I remember the inserts on mine giving me a little trouble as well. I can't remember if there's an adhesive on there or if it's just really frozen on there from the age. Either way you should be able to get them apart. If you absolutely cant get it maybe you'll need to get a little creative. Worst case scenario you can just go to an auto parts store and buy some hose that is that diameter and install it. Personally I would just use the stock lines and ditch the aftermarket one they gave you if it doesn't fit right.

Use the stock line, Pull the insert out with pliers. Get another pair of gloves or a vice grip for grip on the otherside of insert (the part the hose is over). Twist & Pull simultaneously. It will come out.

Otherwise, go to auto parts store & buy a fresh line. It is just basic hose.

During my mini-rebuild, I replaced a ton of worn hoses. They may not LOOK worn, BUT the inside may be cracked. Hair lines, pinholes, dry rotting. But that can be done later I guess :idontknow:

You quoted me and said essentially the same thing...why?

Didn't really mean to quote you. But I did just tell him how to remove EVERY hose ever clamped on your car. I also listed what tools to use. Most newbs don't know the twist & pull technique. Didn't read 65% of your paragraph. Sorry.

So i got some hose clamps, and got them all down, and took it around the block, but when i would come off boost it would kinda jolt a little bit, any ideas? and i got my new NGR Type S in the mail today that im gonna put on tomorrow if it couldve been that?

That hose is for your crank case ventilation. Try to get that nipple out of the hose. if you have to break it to get it out, it wont be the end of the world.

This is beyond the blind leading the blind. Don't kids still go run and get an adult when they need help? There are SOOOOO MANY turbo 2g owners in this thread but only like 3 had any idea what that duct was about.

You might have to cut the hose or replace it if you can't get that nipple out. Lesson learned: No yanking! :D If I were honest, I think mine might also be cut about an inch or 2 short. :shhh:

^ Yeah, if you can't get that nipple thing out then just snip the line right above it. There'll be plenty of hose left to make the connection. That way you still have that piece incase you want to replace the old intake. And stick with the stock hoses, those "new" ones are pieces of junk and harden up in no time and they do absolutely nothing other than give your intake some pretty colors.
