550 is way to high unless you have a really bad record. I would say anything over 300 is to much but expect around there. If you go un preferred company it should be significantly less so keep that in mind.

I go with farmers insurance and I have a 1997 eclipse Rs and the insurance is like $120 a month LOL and for some reason my 1995 GST is only like 85$ a month I have no clue why the turbo is cheaper but I dun complain :D Acutely my insurance company couldn't even tell me why LOL.

Geico, State Farm, Allstate, AIG - stay away from these for they really sock it to you on premimums for first time newbies..and some of them won't even cover our older DSM's due to their age and the liability due to the age.

All depends on your age, driving history, which state you live in - even which part of the state you live in.

Kids getting out of HS, unless they're planning on golng to college, really gets socked with coverage costs, esp if they have a road rocket like ours. When they run the VIN and in the VIN will show that the car has a turbo in it, plan on getting socked some, for that goes under "high performance" rating. And if you keep your nose clean without any citations or accidents for 6 months, the ins company might be nice on you in lowering your next 6 month premimum.

I have FARMERS (been with them for over 30 yrs..whoops, giving away my age here..LOL) and have have been pleased with their rates - even for first time subscribers.

Thus, my Ply Turbo is costing me 36 bucks/month on coverage - course, I have multiple car coverages which also helps with discounts.

Also look into mod coverage if you have any value in your car like stereo, seat, rims, and motor work. i had my car covered when i started and when i finished they wouldn't insure it for its value... any more and said its only worth 2500 ROFL oh and stay away from geico at all costs they suck when it comes to explaining anything :beatentodeath:

I also have farmers. I have full coverage, 500 deductible and they charge for performance surge. I pay $155 for mine.

Did they charge you performance surge for you GST?

I have one speeding ticket, one ticket for no front license plate, a ticket for broken head light, parking tickets, a ticket for failing to stop for law enforcement ( I wasn't speeding i was driving a 89 ford ranger p.o.s and it didn't have a rearview mirror LOL didnt see his cherries on) and to top it off i got those all while not having proof of insurance which i got a huge ticket for. And for liability its only $122 a month quoted. :rocks: I drive a 92 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD
You are golden man ROFL

I'm 18 and didnt have insurance for more then a year too. Still really cheap

Ok. Here I just want to see how much money people are paying for thier insurnace on thier cars (DSM only).

130/month. Full coverage, 22 years old. Theft, collision, even coverage of modifications if I provide receipts :)

Nothing because it doesn't run and been off the road for quite few months LOL.

But I was paying 165ish a month for full coverage through Progressive. They are a rip off, I got a similar quote from Gieco and it was about 100. This is for a 21 yr old male in Buffalo, NY, full-time student.

I pay $330 a month with minimum insurance on just my 95 GSX in NY. No accidents and no tickets!!! And I've had my license for 3 years.

Shop around, you need to spend a long time looking at different companies to find the best one for you. It's always different for different peeps.

I think I saw you stopped at hostetter today like 10 mins ago. White 2g gs eclipse? I'm guessing that wasn't insured LOL.

Which companies have you tried? Geico? met life? allstate?
