Is there any bad in installing a fluidampr on a motor already balanced with the Stock Balancer? Does it become unuseful by putting it on after, Or should i have the motor balanced with the fuildampr?

The idea is to balance the assembly clutch/crank/internals/factory balancer...then put on a fluidamper/or a ati damper. Both of them have a vicous fluid in it that automatically balances itself. So when you put one on after you get it all balanced it adds a extra bit of insurance on your motor at those high revvs :thumb:

thanks fella's i want to get these engine Harmonics down and have the extra security of that and my Kiggly Girdle

Doesnt matter our cranks are ballanced without anything attached to them.

Have the crank balanced beyond the factory spec. specially if you want to rev it fast, and if the silent shaft are no longer there.
i remember a post on the brushur forums in relation to primary and secondary balance and engine harmonics.

I4's do not have good secondary balance, hence the need for the silent shafts. (other engine conf. cancel their imbalances with opposing cylinders)

they were not meant to spin all that fast, so go beyond the factory spec. not all machine shops will use "race spec". a little bit of weight becomes a lot of weight at 8000rpm.

the dampner won't affect anything, the whole rotating assembly should be primary balanced, and it usually already is. just check each individual part. there is no sense in spinning the whole thing together unless you work for nasa.

the dampners purpose is to absorb the harmonics travelling though the crank as it flexes. that will always be there.
