Ok I installed my motor and I hooked just about everything up, there are a few harnesses that were left off, but theres nothing to plug into them?? My freind has pulled motors and he said to make sure EVERYTHING is grounded, Did it still no luck. When I turn the key nothing happens my freind said he herd a click that came from the engine but IDK. I can take pics if you want. If theres someone out there whos done this whats the order in which you should check the electrical??

Thanks Josh

Check all your grounds. There should be one off the tranny on the starter, and one off the intake manifold, its not a bad idea to add a few additional grounds using big gauge wire.

As for the other plugs, the necessary plugs needed are throttle position, cam angle sensor, injectors, coil pack and transistor pack. You can leave the others unplugged but it will run like complete and utter poo.

Ya I made a bunch of grounds, the one on the tranny and the starter, intake manifold, fuel rail block etc out of 8guage wire but still no luck im gunna try jumping it again but i dont think thats the problem, ya all those harnesses are hooked up but theres one off the cruis control box and there 2 behind the throttle body but one is hooked to the tb. Is it possible for the starter to go bad from removal?

Its a shitty camera

If you added in the GM MAF translator along with your motor swap. I'll bet you may have hooked something up inncorrectly there. Try firing it up with your stock MAS....if you had the GM Translator working on your old setup then double check double check your sensor jacks, fuses, ECU hooked up and starter.

You need 3 things to run an engine: crank, fuel and spark. You have no crank... correct?

Is the starter wired up? What about the clutch/neutral safety switch? Is the battery charged?

Get the motor to turn over then move to one of the next items. Don't run it too long without coolant!

yea last time i did the swap there was something wrong with the clutch switch thats why the thing dint turn over.

My freind works with towing and repos and he said cars with aftermarket alarms sometimes have to be ripped out to start, I did it and it works :thumb:

I think thats air, fuel, and spark.
anywho the engine should still turn without the following, though it may not run, but should still turn.

one time I was having the same prob, and it was because I pinch the ground between the tranny and the block. another time the starter wasn't gettin power at all. how about running power from the battery directly to the starter
