Hi guys, I eliminated my charcoal canister (yes everything was capped off correctly) and now for some stupid reason i get burning coolant. The headgasket has jsut been changed, so that is out of the question. When I plug the crankcasebreather back into the intake pipe, this problem goes away. what in hell is going on?
 
Just because the gasket was changed doesn't mean it is done correctly or is still sealing right. As far as the catchcan goes, did you make sure something isn't plugged and it is allowing gases to build in there and not go anywhere.

I haven't had a problem with it at all until the catchcan install today.
 
make sure your catch can is still venting properly, i did a catch can and didnt have it venting properly (connected the hose to a random thingy) and on the dyno it spat oil out of the filler cap and into the turbo (smoked like crazy). i unplugged the hose and just let it vent to atmosphere and no problems. so my setup goes from the valve cover into the can and the other hose going to the can is just hanging.
 
This is making zero sense to me.

After my catchcan install, im now smoking blue out of the exhaust, usually after boost. Also, at random times a plume of smoke comes out from UNDER my car all over, not from the exhaust pipe, and it really sucks. I can tell its coming from inside the engine bay. Oil leaking, and burning off somewhere. However, the blueness out of the exhaust is new as of today.

Also, the plume of smoke from under the car was occuring before the catchcan install as well.

I have just changed my headgasket, and the rings seemed fine when i checked the cylinder walls when I had the head off. I have also recently changed the valve cover gasket, and the spark plug valve cover gaskets. Inspected around the oil pan to ensure it wasn't leaking around the seal. Also lowered the boost after HG install.

The oil seems to get ontop of the oil filter, on the side of the alternator, alot of oil under the compressor housing of my turbo. And of course this oil leaks to the ground.

The car is still driveable, but I've chosen to not drive it because I feel sympathy for the people driving behind me.

I am thinking that crankcase pressure could be to blame since I had oil dipstick popping out shenangians occuring.
 
This is how I have my catchcan set up.

Breather to intake one, PCV valve that was drilled out to intake 2, the original hose from the intake manifold to PCV valve blocked off. I have the DIY catchcan that is on this site. Instead of a filter, the top of the catchcan goes to the intake manifold, where the breather was originally attached.

I have not noticed a significant change in crankcase pressure.

Also, on most non-diy catchcans, I see 2 inlets, and a tube going from the top to the bottom of the can, what is the purpose of this?
