1. What was routed to the catch can? Breather? PCV? How is it routed in detail including usage of T fittings.
2. When you had the head off, did you see oil/gunk in the intake and exhaust runners? In other words, did you check the valve seals?
3. Perform a compression test both dry and wet and post back results.
4. Was the dipstick popping before this catch can thing or after?
5. Have you pulled the intake pipe and verified the oil under the turbo is in fact coming from inside and not the feedline? While you're at it, check it for shaftplay.
6. Is your dipstick tube pinched shut?
You're most likely correct that excessive crankcase pressure is the problem but the question is where are the excessive pressure coming from.
