So I was driving my car today on the highway heading to a Chicago suburb meet, and I do a 3rd gear pull and BAM!! Fuel cut all stupid, which I expected cause I knew I was going to hit but what suprised me was at the PSI I hit it at. I usually hit it at 16-17 PSI at abomut 5800 RPM. But my BOV made a funny noise, so then I hit it again and saw my boost surpass almost 25 PSI!! OMG I have no clue what happened I popped the hood up and everything seemed in place!! I have my boos controller tapped to the BOV line all the lines seem secure and have no idea where this is coming from. If anyone can please give me some diagnosis tips I would really appreciate you guys...Thanks!! -Leo-

Make sure all lines from the boost controller are hooked up and are still in tact. I had this same problem after the install of my EVO III 16g. The hose from the boost controller to the wastegate had melted.

leo i bet its your wg stuck open, which means its not controlling the boost, thats why you went from 0 -26psi in a matter of a sencond. go on agp and fp site to get a new one.

p.s. we check all lines and connections everyting was good.

The wastegate would be stuck closed, not open. Take your hand and move the wastegate to make sure it moves. Then use an air compressor or some other pressure source to check the wg actuator and make sure it operates properly. Also consider replacing the boost controller lines as one may have blown a hole in the side that you can't see, but is definately leaking under boost.

ya im sorry closed LOL,

ya leo i was going to tell you to try and move the flapper last night but it was alittle to hot LOL. try it today and see what happens

It looks like I solved my problem! No bad hoses or bad wastegate actuator...well sort of...My intake was pinching down the hose that is connected to the wastegate actuator it seemed. So I adjusted that and went out for a drive and sure enough it solved the problem. Thanks for the help and ideas... :thumb:
