So i Installed a 1g fuel rail on my car. because it came with all the AN fittings. after i was done torquing down the bolts ( Allen bolts), I noticed that i could move the injectors by hand, meaning i could twist them from side to side, Not freely, but only if i wanted to.
is that normal? i dont remember that happening with my 2g rail, Everything seems to be in place. orings are faily new.
 
Rotate them you mean? Or actually jiggle them within their mount hole? If you lubed them up, to insert them, which you should have, they will spin. Likely even without lube, they don't spin when they sit in there a long time, and get dry and stuck in place.
 
The clips go in easier with the 1g fuel rail,
there were no other modifications i should have done to run a 1g fuel rail in a 2g car right?
i pretty much put the same seals on both ends, and along with the black spacers.
 
Did you also change out the insulators? If not, there is your wiggle problem.

"O" rings and insulators should be changed when doing injector install and servicing.

That is right. If you serviced the injectors greatly advised.. change the orings, and lightly lube them up with oil if your doing it yourself.
 
well since i dont have my turbo yet, i wanted to see if they leaked under regular 40psi fuel pressure. i activated my fuel pump with dsmlink very quick. didnt leave it on for a long time. not even 20 seconds. pressure went up to 40psi. i checked the fuel rail and most of that area. an i didn't see a leak of fuel.
is that a good thing or would that be a way of knowing if it was leaking?
 
Turning fuel pump on will test the o-ring between the injector and fuel rail. That's only half the story. You need to do a boost leak test to check the o-ring between the injector and head. Keep in mind that since pressure rises 1:1 with intake pressure, you could be seeing up to 60psi in the rail. If it's not leaking at 40psi, it's a good sign, but keep it on for longer and maybe at a higher pressure. If there are still no leaks, take it for a short spin and keep an eye on it.
