I have an evo III 16g turbo and SAFC II and a MAFT to tune with. I am looking at fuel injector clinics 650cc or 750cc injectors what would the best set of injectors be for around the 400whp mark. I want to max out the turbo. I know I cant really do that with my stock internals, but I am in the process of building another block.

Thanks for the help.

I would personally go with 650s. 650s will take you a long way and 750s would be to hard to tune using an AFC/Maft. I haven't seen to many Evo3s flowing enough air to over run 650s. ;)

How much boost can I run do you think with 650s. I have a walbro 190lph.

I'll be honest and say that you'll outflow the 190 before you over run the 650s. It's all just a guess when talking about how much boost but I would say easily enough to run 22psi, assuming your not knocking. I'd start at 18 and go up from there.

So on a really good tune 20-22 psi should be good for around 400whp mark on a new built motor. With the 190lph.

Not on 22psi and not with an Evo3. Your going to hard pressed to hit 400whp on an Evo3. Your definitely going to need a bigger turbo if those are your goals and your 100% serious. You might break 400hp on an Evo3 with race gas and 28lbs of boost but I definitely don't recommend it. With a great tune on 22psi, you should probably see 320-340hp. But again, that's all speculation and that depends of quite a bit of factors.

Remember, your fuel system limitations are limited by airflow, not boost pressure. You could be pushing 35psi, but if you are only flowing 5 lbs/min you could use 250cc injectors. On the other hand, if you were pushing 5 psi and flowing 60lbs/min, you would be screwed. :thumb:

Yes but most evo 3 16g s run problably close to the same lbs/min.

Another question; I am having trouble tuning my maft to get my fuel trims at 100% Would a wideband make things 100% easier?

An also I have super loud lifter tick, and that makes me knock at partial throttle (40 plus counts). Would this mess with fuel trims, and being able to tune.

What would be a good, and of course, not to expesnsive turbo to make it to the 400hp mark.

Yes, you are absolutely correct. I just like to throw things like that in there, in case someone with a 50 trim reads this. :thumb:

Your FT's don't have to be right at 100% and I wouldn't justify purchasing a WBO2 just for FT's. Also, with a 1g, you really don't need a WBO2 because you can log knock, so all you have to do is lean it out until it starts knocking and the go a little richer. You 1g guys are so lucky. :p Just get your FT's within a couple % of 100 and you will be fine.

The ECU does a very good job at what it does, so it will pick up the slack if you are off a little.

You might want to do something about your lifter tick, but part throttle knock is relatively common. If you aren't experiencing the knock at WOT, you really don't need to be concerned. As long as you are sure that it is indeed phantom knock.

Did you buy your injectors yet? I have tons of brand new fic/pte injectors....You can pm me if you still need a set.

I would get at least 750's. You do not want to max out the injectors, And then need to buy AGAIN.

why is it harder to tune 750cc injectors rather than 650cc, with a MAFT if you just set it to 750cc injectors?
