Hello,

REPOST: my thread was merged and I'm getting no help.
I have already read CAM ID THREADS and no info for me.

I cannot find any info on the cams in my 1995 Talon TSI AWD M/T.
Was told by previous owner they are 272s, but no proof.
Car did not run, so could not listen to confirm. They look stock.

INTAKE cam has "A" and (6 2) / ROTATE to "H" with (6 dots) and (3).
EXHAUST cam has "D" and (22 2) / ROTATE to "H" with (4 dots) and (2 1).
BOTH cams have white paint on them, like a regrind maybe?

All casted numbers and letters resemble the pics of stock cams posted.
I've called several manufactures and read ALL cam threads with no help.

Any ideas? Much Thanks,
Matt

They look stock to me. They may be regrinds, but I know delta uses blue paint to mark theirs. Only way to be certain would be to check the base circle. Since I dont know how to do this, that is where I stop

Pull out one of your lifters. If they are, in fact, regrinds, then a shim would have to be placed under the lifter to give you the lift that they are advertising.

I understand you have read all the threads, and PM'ed me too. If the info you are looking for is not in the CAM ID thread or some other other "What cams are these" thread. Then no one has taken the time to spec those cams out and you will need to remove them and do it yourself.

In this thread, it explains how to measure the base circle.

The shims are not always needed under the HLAs, this is more so ture of heads that have had a valve job or two and the tip height is at max spec or past spec for valve tip height.

I posted new photos of cams that I didn't have originally and was hoping for some help. Looks like I will need to spec myself as you suggested. Thanks for the replies everyone.

Spec'd out and they are indeed stock. Not sure why they have white paint.

Had to retime AGAIN, cam lock and plate walked. Then it kept cutting out and dying. Found the coil regulator wasn't secure and finally the car runs. Now to start putting the upgrades back on it.

Yippee! Look forward to meeting some of you one day.
