i got three matched tires now,... LOL

(they were only unmatched in brand, not in size)

my old boss sells used tires for 5 bucks per tire, he keeps all the ones that still have tread but people replaced for whatever reason. I figured having thread and matched tires (somewhat) would help some. Id didn't, much.

The car is completely ready minus the one exhaust clamp and radiator shit. The radiator is drained, but I haven't swapped the cores yet, because I haven't had the time.
 
my cars all ready, we could fire it up, but it wont be fun coz i cant drive it yet... damn transfer case!!!

i started a new job, so im not sure if i can get off early wed... but if i do, i'll be there to see you guys run, and maybe video tape if someone brings a camera...
 
Hey Danny, is TRE helping you out with the 23 splined T-case shaft? I have an old shaft I saved from my car. It's good enough to work temporarily if you don't mind swapping it out again when it's time to install a new shaft.

I hope you can all make it out for the last event of the season. It'll be fun to see us all out there.

I did some tuning tonight- 25psi and everything's fine. I'm seeing some unusual numbers on the logger; it can't log anything over 7968rpm, it took exactly one second to go from 6k rpm to 8k rpm in second gear, I kept slamming into the 8500rpm rev limiter, injector pulsewidth reached it's peak at 7krpm, duty cycle peaked at 97%(how can I be out of fuel with 1k injectors?) :)
If I hit a ten I'm buying you all dinner at Denny's next Wednesday!
 
I dont know what they are going to do. They originally called me and asked me what output shaft i would need and i told them to wait as i would call them back as soon as i knew what T-case i had. So i called them back and said hey its a 23 and they said "oh we went off of your original build date of 6/90 and sent the one with the 22spline output shaft" and i was like is that going to be a big problem, and they told me it should be easy to find a 22spline t-case. Well i e-mailed them friday to ask what they can do about it and im waiting for monday to get a response. However, someone e-mailed me back today with a 22spline for sale for 50 bucks so if he's local im going to go pick it up today and hopefully get a hold of paul to slap it in and get my damn car running today! Hmmm can i put 1000miles on my car in two days? It might be time for a night trip to LA if my car's ready. Haha... j/k, id have to bring a lot of tools and oil to change all my stuff periodically on the way.

Dave, first off good luck with your car, i cant wait to see it. And whats the deal with the shaft you ahve? I really dont want to have to take apart the trans that tre built. I want to leave it as they sent it to me so getting a 22spline T-case is the easier option to me.


Anyways, i'll tell you guys monday if i can come wednesday or not. last wednesday was slow and they let me off early so we'll see what happens this week.
 
AHAW! I found another guy in fremont who has a 22spline t-case along with some other stock parts that i neet to get the car running so im going over there in an hour or so to pick up the parts, then to pauls shop to slap everything together and hope for no other problems and start my car up after 4 months of downtime!

IF all is good, i'll be back on the streets tonight folks! I'll update later with the good or bad news and see tomorrow about going wednesday.

This wednesday, gates open at 3, time trials start at 4, racing usually goes until about 8 or 9 depending on how lucky you are. If we're up to it we sometimes go eat at Denny's afterwards.
 
i have an issue... when do we have to get there to be on time? i gotta pick up the woman at oakland airport at 2:25 pm, which means i'll probably drag her along. we could meet up at a gas station or something along the way if its not too late... hmmm

I'd go with... NOT wednesday night drags.

if thats a saturday or sunday or whatever, its some points thing where you go to a bunch throughout the season and try and win points or something. I think its more expensive for the same shit, but I could be really, REALLY wrong on that one.
 
Im going on the 8th. Im not going to run my car though. I just want to go at least once this season.

I might be interested. It depends if I get some good runs with my Talon at Infineon. Right now it's having fuel issues. It runs super lean at anything over 1/4 throttle. I suspect the stock fuel filter disintegrated, or the stock fuel hose broke apart inside, or maybe the pump outlet seal went bad. I hope I can fix it by Wed. Anyone available for some wrenching and sucking fumes Tuesday?

damn dsms!!! Anybody have a spare LSD 3-bolt? I drove my car home tonight, but my rear end got fried when i towed the car to pauls a couple of months ago. We unbolted the driveshaft to tow it, but i guess the rearend got too hot or something and locked up.....


but the cars at my house now!

I would tell you to ask edwin, but he sold that pos long ago. Amazingly, when the new owner called later, it wasn't to bi*** edwin out for giving him the sorriest excuse for an awd dsm in the world, it was to ask him if he knew anyone selling some other type of car or something.

How can i check that the rear end is f'd up and not the t-case i just put in?

Good luck tomorrow for those of you who are going, i couldnt get it off. And my car isnt running properly so i cant go to chill and show off the new motor.

Anyways, its time for my first oil change... :rocks: ahhh yeah i get to work on my dsm again.... its been at pauls shop for like 2 months and before that it was just sittin in front of my house. for another 2....

I also find it hard to beleive the back end got messed up from towing it with the driveshaft off.
A quick and easy way to check it is to raise both back wheels off the ground and see if they spin smoothly. Make sure you put some blocks under the front wheels since you'll have to release the parking brake. Then unbolt the driveshaft from the rear diff and spin it again. Listen and feel for vibration, uneven resistance, or anything not smooth. If that doesn't turn up anything try unbolting the T-case and check it for smoothness, esistance, vibration. Maybe TRE slipped in a welded center diff? What exactly are the problems you're having?
