Indiana AND Ohio

Oh, another link you might want to check out is http://www.ohiotuners.com/Forum/index.php

Upcoming events of all different sorts for Ohio (and East Indiana/SE Mich) are posted in the appropriate forums there. Not much of a discussion board anymore, but it gets events posted to it on a regular basis. Good reference for when you're looking for something to do in the area :)

A subset of that info that I expect to be able to attend gets put onto http://www.glmotorsports.net

I'd been looking for that link, expect to see me there next year at some of the events.

Likewise for me. Probably just to watch though. Unless I have a DSM by then, but it's been over a year and I still don't have one. It's getting real old, I have been without mine for almost 2 years now. I miss the boost, I might have to give you a call Kyle just to go for a ride in yours.

What do you have now? There's very few events that are really DSM specific ;)

I have a 99 Diamante. Mitsu's "Luxury" car. Even if the event wasn't DSM specific I wouldn't dare AutoX the Diamante. That would be like drag racing a stock Chevette. :p I am getting so sick of no boost I am about 1 second from taking out a loan to by a 1st gen. I just can't save any damn money, but if I owe it to a bank I don't have a choice.

Dig out that video camera and give me a ring, we'll go out messing around. Hopefully the roads will dry out sometime around here, all this rain makes the car almost useless.

You'd be surprised... :) You may find that you beat some 1g DSMs... The suspension on the 1g's is so horrible (I've autoxed a '90 FWD 2.0NT and a '92 AWD 2.0T before) that I wouldn't be surprised to see a Diamante beat them!

I've seen 1970's Cadillacs autox before! Sunbirds, Festiva's, you name it and I've seen it on course before. Don't let your current car be the reason not to autox!

Yeah this weather sucks the big one. I have the camera but the damn battery is wasted. So it only works when plugged in an AC outlet. I will see what I can figure out with it, or get a new battery. When the weather gets better or the news says it will I'll give you a ring a couple days in advance. Then we can go do some "spirted" driving.

No kidding, I may have to this spring then. Yeah I have read 1g's don't do to great at AutoX but it will be for the Drag strip anyway. I would love to see a 1970's Cadillac running through an AutoX course. I bet that was funny as hell.

That Caddy was HUUUUGE. And it was that ugly boring green that was so popular in the 70's. Even better, it was raining and we were running in the infield (and part of the oval) on a shorttrack in Xenia... Hilarious watching him slide that big ol' caddy around on the banking!

Give me a call tonight if you're bored, weather is at least dry, and the 14b loves 20psi and cold air for the IC. :D

Oh and if you beat my 1g in an autocross this year I'll beat the hell out of it and burn the son of a bi*** on the spot.

Say, the autox thing kinda made me think of this... Any of you Indiana guys track your DSMs out at Putnam Park? I went out there once a couple years ago. Beautiful track. I didn't have my AFPR yet so I was spewing big clouds of smoke thanks to my Supra fuel pump. Had a blast, but had to quit after the first session because I melted the seals in my front brake calipers (and apparently melted/warped metal stuff too as I wasn't able to rebuild them (couldn't ever get the pistons out, they wouldn't budge, even reconnecting them and jumping on the brake pedal), had to junk them and get new ones).

Any info on where this place is at? Sound very interesting.

I didn't see any open track days or AutoX events listed on the 05 schedule. Do you know if they still have them there?

None of the tracks seem to have complete '05 schedules out yet. Wait a couple months and look again. A lot of times you'll see some reserved days turn into open track days...

Not too far away from richmond. Live out in Hamilton, OH. Richmondis maybe 35-40 minutes or so.

I live about 5 min away from putnam park. It is out in the middle of no where. The neighboring small town of cloverdale that I used to live in always had vipers and supercharged miatas in the hotels by the highway. It is a very nice track. PM me if you guys are interested, and I'm sure I could call and see how much it would be to rent the track out.

Putnam Park is located about a mile off Highway 40. I also live about 5 minutes just north of that track, in Greencastle. Im interested in see'ing some other DSM's in the state/surrounding areas.

I've run at Putnam Park before with my DSM. It's pretty expensive! Really nice track though (well, except for that slow, ugly 90 degree right that they put in the middle ;) ).
