I know there are a million threads on how to increase spool but i dont wanna overstep myself here.

mods 6 bolt swap arp stock internals
shep stage 2 awd
urathane mounts
fidanza fw
act2600 street disc
3in turbo back
ebay tube an fin fmic with piping an long route
1g bov
16lbs boost

I had a magnus intake on here but i realize what it does for your torque an there only good for straight drag or if you want a high end beast, after reviewing dyno sheets it just doesnt fit my application.

My direction with this car is intended to be a street strip car i daily this thing so im not going over the 400hp mark an i would like to shoot for that an run a nice time slip. (plus beat my best friends brothers suby running 12.9) :)

My idea is to get the car running how i want it to in this form before i get into fuel mods an all that. I will be buying a dsmlink in the next month if all goes well because i wanna know what my engine is doing before i change everything an see what i can do with that the way things are.

Right now my car runs good other then a somewhat of high idle, boost leak test is great no issues there, but im not happy with the lag for a 16g, my best friends first gen has the same set up on his car but stock side mount, an he can pull very nice at just quarter to half pedal an it feels nice a torquey. Turbo is spooled at about 3000 rpm. I know that i will prob outgrow the stock side mount with some mods plus i dont have any side mount piping. I would throw it back on an take away my pretty fmic LOL if i thought it was reasonable but if im shooting for numbers over 300 it seems like a waist of time. So what do i do? is my long route that laggy on this turbo? Should i go with a name brand kit, i have not seen many products to increase spool at midrange power. My friends suby has a 3 way electonic boost controller an his turbo is just wistling an half spooled at like 2000 rpm. Dont get me wrong at wot my car is rippin past my friends mustang an friends first gen but i think you get my point.

Any suggestions about how to get this thing where i want it or any ideas or even suggestions for which direction to take my car are more then welcome.

Thanks guys

I have a front mount for the guy with the first post an a front mount takes away a faster spool.

An the second post, no an intake manifold will not increase spool your trying to fill a larger area with air, velocity creates torque so the stock intake being smaller porting will cause more torque. I sheet metal intake takes that away buy using larger straight runners an allows you to pull more top end hp.

Best way to increase spool is to increase the timing of the car. And increase spark as well, while riching the pre-spool rpms. And cut it back when boost comes on. Also, go with a smaller AR exhaust housing. But, that will be very hard to do properly, without causing knock and the chance to detonate the motor.

That FMIC, btw, will decrease spool VERY little

I always thought pulling timing a little lower down the rpm range will improve timing (through increased EGTs). Or am I well off?

Well thats what i dont understand then is how my friend an i have the same mods but he has stock side mount an i dont an his is fully spooled at like 3000 rpm, same six bolt engine i have. Same turbo same exhaust. Yet his car puts you in the seat with a much different more agressive feel at low rpm.

Just lowering the timing doesn't. You also have to add more fuel pre-spool to have the effect he is looking for. It works similar to antilag in a sense that the fuel isnt igniting until after the valves are opening.

Yes, lower ignition timing is better for quicker spool. Whether this creates more power is another discussion?
Have you done a boost leak test? Maybe port your manifold and turbine housing if its not done already for a little extra. Also if your O2 is not upgraded/ported, take care of that
