Okay, this happens on flat stretches of highway so I know it's not the car just trying to pull itself up a hill.

For my morning commute, the car gets the chance to warm up in the city at 35-45MPh until I get to the highway. For the first minute or two after pulling out of my driveway, the car acts like is has very low power. I feel almost scared to NOT baby it while it's like this. It then runs much better through the town.

On the highway, I can travel several minutes on relatively flat road going 65Mph, and the engine is running hard at 3000~Rpms. After a long while, the engine only needs to go 2500-2600RPMs at the same speed.

The same thing happened yesterday when I was doing 55. At first it was 2600, then it dropped to 2100~Rpms.

It's an auto n/t with a transmission that's slipping up to a couple times a day.

-----------------

Is it normal for these cars to take THAT long to warm up?
Or do I need to clean my injectors or something?
Is this something that seafoam could fix?

I don't think you're seeing the tree in the forrest here.

A slipping transmission would cause all the problems you list. When the bands/fuid heats up, you're more likely to start slipping :dsm:

i agree with DSM90AWD..WTF

Hmm, I wondered if the trans had something to do with it, but.

You say that as it warms up, the trans would most likely start slipping, and that is the cause of my problem.....

That honestly doesn't make any sense to me.

I don't know much about transmissions, but from what you said, my power problem would get WORSE as the car warmed up, but I have the opposite. It gets BETTER as the car warms up, it just takes 50 billion years to get the power I know the car should have.

I don't know if I didn't explain the situation very well or what, but I'm confused as to your response....WTF

It is too hard to explain exactly how a AUTO tranny works. The Wiseman was very correct with what he said. Replace the tranny and possibly the torque converter. I would recommend getting a used tranny from here or ebay, and NEW Torque Converter.

OMG WTF

Head....hurts....

The torque comment makes things a little clearer.

I'm converting it to manual this summer if it holds out that long.

I believe you guys now, sorry I didn't before. Thanks.
