i just bought a 95 TSI AWD, its bone stock, save for being .020 over, a 3inch exhaust, coated valves and upgraded springs, still has BS.
I was wondering what would be a smarter thing to do first, buy a boost and wideband and DSMlink , or get the BS deleted with some 264s, i only want/plan on a mild build over time as this is my daily any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Myself including many others will say do/check maintenance first. If I had to choose between those options, I would go with the boost gauge, WB, and link. I'll postpone the performance work until I know timing belt, water pump, tensioner, etc. is up to date.

Also while you do a timing belt you are halfway there to cams so drop those in at the same time. Yes even on a bone stock motor, this way you don't have to do double the work.

Agreed. I would do a comression test first. if that checks out , go link and wideband right after all maintainence has been done. :thumb:

+100 - I would also check all fluids including, front dif and rear end, oil and filter, and do a coolant flush.

After you know where the car sits you can do simple things like a fuel pump re-wire and turn the boost up once you have link, wide band, and a FPR.

after your maintenance.... link and fuel upgrades so you can tune future mods

This guy is on the right track. ;)
First you need to figure out what your goals are for the car and your budget.

Maintenance. Lateral arms, timing belt, tstat, fluids, fuel filter etc etc.

Ecmlink is great to start with so you can start learning. After your maintenance fuel mods are good. Wally 255, 6an fuel line and injectors and you will be set for 400hp or less. AFPR if you want higher goals.

Then you need to mod the car the right way and do it smart. What I mean is don't buy an injen intake with a 2.25 inlet and buy a 4" inlet turbo and have to buy another intake pipe. Make sense?
Do it once, and do it right.
If you can tell us your goals and your budget we can point you in the right direction. Keep in mind maintenance isn't exactly cheap. All the timing components do add up and do NOT cheap out on them. (water pump too)

And do not use any topline products.

haha thanks guys, but the motor has 4000 miles on it :) im in the process of changing the fluids and checking everything over, so i think ill go with link and the gauges
