its a gasket that didnt come in our gasket set that we ordered...bastards.

Wtf!!!!!!!!!

i just put everything back together. it all is going good. i start it, and its really really loud and the rpms are increasing. like i turn it on, the RPM's strart to rise really quickly, then i shut it off because im afraid of what could happen. WHAT IS THIS?????

That what happens when you first start up the car....The oil has to go through the entire motor including the head and lifters....You probably hear the lifters clacking.....
Let the car idle for at least 2-3 minutes with the rad cap off as well to help coolant circulate through the system....sqeeze the hoses and try to get out all air bubbles....Its called burping the system....

You motor should quite down pretty quickly....but all the lifter may take a little while to fully stop clacking....mine took around 10-15 miles worth of driving to get them fully quiet

ok so what is happening now is....when i crank it, it turns, really hard for it to start, then it starts, runs hard for like 3 sec. then shuts its self off. wtf!

is the CAS in the direction...did you leave any plugs unpluged ie CAS plug do a compression check....

well we tried having the CAS both ways and everything is connected

what could it possibly be? i mean it starts, runs hard, then shuts off. we checked the CAS connections, they all good, and we tried putting that one piece in both ways. The timing is all right. All the wires seem to be in good place.

Could spark plugs/wires have anything to do with it?

whats the easiest way to do a good compression test?

Remove all the plugs. Hook up a compression tester to where one plug was. Crank the engine for roughly 12 seconds with the throttle all the way open. Make sure the mpi fuse is pulled or the ignition is disabled first. Let us know what you come up with.

hooray i got a video, its not good quality, and u have to turn up the speakers. its from my phone so yeah.

But this is what it does, i start it, runs hard then shuts its self off. sometimes it will last longer than this.

Boost leak test compression test.....My clanking lifters never sounded that bad....Valves maybe???comp check that thing....

yeah we are taking the head off again to check if the pistons are all good, idk it sounds really bad, but after we put it together , ill compression test it, and is there a how to: boost leak check?

Not trying to sound like a wise A$$ but do you & pop have a FSM? (or at least a Hanes or Chilton) There are very specfic ways to setting up the timing & belt tension.

That is one area where half A$$ing will not do. And if the timing jumped you could have Rekissed some valves

I think you are starting to figure I might have been cheeper to have had a shop do it in the first place.

Don't take me wrong I was just scanning your profile from post one.

You said in the other post that you found out the problem...please enlighten us

oh! i meant to the sprockets not moving....not my general problem. havent found that out yet.
