All i want to do is break something at the moment.... im sooooooooo fu*king pist...........

OK here is what is up... i got tired of my leaking oil return line(stripped bolt on the pan), so i desided to drop the pan, tap the holes to 1/4 20, new gasket, and no more leak........ well i did all that except that it now leaks WORSE then it did before!!!!!!! WTF?????? it appears to be coming out of the bolt holes, so i tightend it down a little more.... still leakin. now i know there are supposed to be copper crush washers for this thing... i didnt have any, but i dont think they would stop it from leaking.... I grabbed 1/420 bolts.....i thought. maybe i grabbed the next size down? they were a little lose in the hole.... grrrrrrrrrr

WANT TO BREAK SOMETHING!

the only good thing that came out of the night was that i got to install my SAFC 2.

Easy Easy. How long has it been leakin. Did you just install a new turbo???

Where did you get the oil return??

its been leakin ever since i got the car. and i finished putting it togeather lastnight. And put oil in it and started it up tonight. Looked under it, leak. No new turbo, and its the stock line. I know its probably all my fault why its leaking.... i had to do something wrong......

You may just wanna make your own gasket for it then. or just seal it with something. I had the oil leak from the bolts on mine too. Made my own seal and it worked fine.

made your own seal??? i bought the proper gasket from the dealership, then i threw a little RTV on the back just to help instalation...how are you gonna make it not leak from the bolt?

Well, you could cover the bolt in a dab of it. Kind of like pipe dope (no not weed ;) ). Or wrap the bolt in teflon tape (easier, but I'm not sure how long it would last.)

Personally, I just used grey sealant on it.

yeah, i thought about doing that, but wasnt to sure how it would hold.. ohh well, ill try it tomorrow and let the car sit overnight for it to dry and see how it is on saturday i guess...... damn i wanted to tune it tomorrow

You need crush washers under the bolt heads. The threads are through-holes, and straight threads -unlike tapered pipe threads- cannot seal. The points and valleys of the thread don't touch the other fastener. Pull the bolts, put a dab of High Tack or Permatex #1 on the threads (just a little), cut off the ends of a couple of crimp-on ring terminals and put them under the bolt caps, tighten it gently, and stop being a crybaby.

Christ, a pissy little drip and you're whining like a turbo bearing has burned up. I wonder what you'll do when things go bad.

Yea use crushwashers, make a gasket, and use rtv. If it still leaks use some more rtv. If it leaks some more, use more rtv.

my bad for acting like a little biotch lastnight. I had alot goin on( girl problems), and that just put me over the top. I snuck out of work and made it home for a little bit... pulled the bolts and rtv'd them a little. So far its not leaking yet. Im gonna let it sit till i get off work at 5.. so 8hrs should be enough drying time for that to set up. Well thanks for the help, and once again, sorry for acting like a little biotch.

yeah i read his post after i already used the RTV. if the leak persists, then ill try his idea.
