1995 TSI FWD with K&N, no cat or resonators, NGK plugs, plug wires.. and my plugs are white as all hell. lean, right?

how can i fix this? can i do it with my stock fuel setup?

i'm not sure...but look on the uderside of the MAS. There should be a little rubber thing. Dig all that out and there is a screw under it. turn it in for richer out for leaner. I dunno if that is good to do. U might wanna wait for other opinions.

I just wanna say i have a 255 fuel pump and i pulled spark plugs and they are also white as hell. Kinda strange

:dsm:

i'm waiting for my palm to be delivered.

does anyone know how I can adjust it so i'm not running so lean? I don't wanna blow this thing up. does the first poster's method work? seem like something I should do?

it won't blow ur engine up. u can try it i have messed with the little screw and it didn't hurt me. I just havn't gotten around to it with this lean problem.

So is the only way to make my car not run lean to install a FPR?

Gotta flip that around.
Only way to make your car not run rich w/ a 255 walbro fuel pump would be a FPR.

How old are the plugs. 2gs usually run really rich, mine were really old and were white but i always run very rich cause I log it. So i believe white doesnt seem all bad at least on are cars. Possibly a colder plug may help

You have a boost gauge???
Modifying the exhaust like your mods say can make the boost spike
up and sometimes. A manual boost controller could be used to manage boost
if you arent already using one.

I have an intake/exhaust/MBC/boost gauge, and I run so rich that I have to clean the soot off of my bumper once every two days. My plugs still look sort of white, though. It's strange. I have an SAFC, but no logger, so I'm screwed. :|

yah i tend to run really rich but still have white plugs though I thought it was wear on them. I should check mine tommorrow that are new as of last week. If they start to turn white already I'll also kinda wonder cause I've been running rich as sh1t w/ black smoke at WOT.
I think a buddy of mine was running lean because of a boost leak but I can't quite figure out if that would make sense, I though it would more likely cause rich conditions. maybe if it wasn't 4 in the morning I could remeber. Any of the "DSM ole timers" know if white plugs are pretty common?
