I'm having problems with my S-AFCII.

I got it all wired up and with it zero'd out, my car is acting up. It feels equivalent to having my MAS unplugged. There is no acceleration and there is lots of smoke what what I believe is unburnt fuel. Also, it tripped my CEL - cylinder #4 misfire. I then uninstalled the AFC, cleared the CEL, and everything went back to normal.
What could I be doing wrong?

Paul, put down the vfaq directions and the prostreetonline directions and wire it up from the instuctions that came w/ the S-AFCII. Also, even though you have the keydriver chip, maybe you need to select the compensation settings on your maf-translator?

Once you hook the safc up, You hafto go into setting and select your car type, Which is 4cylinder, Then make sure you set it for Karman, When I just installed mine the other day I forgot to set it for karman, And it did exactly what you said. Just turn your key to where the safc turns on, Don't start the car until you set it up like I just described.

haha, I know for a fact that it is wired up correctly. For Christ sakes, it's only a few wires, and I'm not a retard. My MAFT shouldn't have any affect on the AFC at all. The AFC is zero'd out, so it shouldn't affect my tune at all, but it is.....
And how would you explain the cyl#4 misfire?

Yes, I tried both, 2cyl and 4cyl - that made no change. And it is set on Karman. If I change that, the car dies.

Are you sure you followed the correct directions? If you follow the hot wire directions instead of the karmen this will happen.
I basically followed this diagram. I didnt use the blue wire or purple wire. It's dark now and I'm tired, but tomorrow, I will look at the exact pin-out #'s just to verify. What are the hotwire directions?
