I was in a fender bender and now need a new radiator. I decieded on a Koyo, and was wondering if I would need anything to make it fit right. I have a stock smic and turbo so I would basicly just be swaping in a Koyo into a stock car (well minus the K&N filter and the APEXi exhaust system). So will I need anything like smaller fans, ect?
Thanks

+1 my koyo radiator went in without any issues whatsoever! Didn't even take us 20 minutes to install it. Drained the old radiator, pulled the old one, put on the new one and filled it up. And it made a huge difference for me! You will be pleased :D!

While the stocker doesn't look too bad, looking at the end tanks. Wait till you get it out & compare core thickness to the Koyo, you'll laugh at the stocker  Fitment on my Koyo was excellent, like others have said. I run aftermarket fans but the stockers should bolt right up & you should have enough clearance with the stock turbo setup.

I read that some after-market radiators leak, have ya'll had any problems with leaks? I also use my GST as my DD, what ratio do ya'll think I should run in it? Thanks alot every-one I really appreciate the help!

I'm sure there are cheeper, knock off style aftermarket rads that may leak. If you buy a good quality/legit manufacturer rad, such as Koyo, Fluidyne, etc you shouldn't have any issues. I've yet to hear of anyone having issues with either on of these.

Now sometimes people also install aftermarket slimline fans with their aftermarket rad & use those stupied through the rad core ties. Some say they work great but personally I wouldn't take the chance, especially if your running a high performance model that flows alot of cfms. The rad core is taking alot of abuse on the torque from fan startup. This could be the cause of some of the issues you've heard of but obviously with stock fans, won't be an issue.

For the mixture ratio, it depends what your trying to do. 50/50 would be what most run & usually the safest. Some will run a lower percentage of antifreeze as it helps with cooling, if high engine temps are an issue for them.

I ran a Koyo in my other car. It works great still about a year later and had no install issues.

the koyo is noticeably thicker. i had some issues with my j-pipe rubbing against the radiator fan (OEM). i grinded it down a little and shave some of the shroud off. makes it alot easier to install and remove. other than that. i fit nicely with all the mounting holes lining up.
