Hey again guys. Tonight I ran through a little problem, my 95 Talon is going through its monthly and its idling quite weird. While is warming up it idles between 1300 and 1500 which isn't bad, then if I hit the gas it starts going between 1500 and 2000, when I drive it for a bit it sticks anywhere from 2500 to 3000 at idle. I turn it off then back on and it goes back to fluctuating between 1500 and 2000, I give it some gas and it starts sticking at around 2500-3000 once more.

My MAF is hooked up, I checked the vacuum lines I could (its pretty dark outside) but I don't think that's it since the idle is normal during warm up. I did a compression test a few days ago, 165 across the board and I haven't been driving the car since then.

I played around with the BISS went the car first broke down thinking it would help, it ended up just being a really bad boost leak. Do I need to tighten the BISS or loosen it to make the idle speed to down? (I believe its tighten but I rather ask to double check, always do.) hopefully my idle speed sensor isn't messed up because I cant afford to spend too much more money on this car (ordered a harness for the turbo timer and a J pipe today).

Anyone have any idea of what could be happening?

Tighten = lower idle
Loosen = Raise idle
When setting the BISS unplug the IAC before you change it. If you dont the IAC will adjust the idle speed opposite of what your doing!

Also check your throttle cable for binding. I know I set mine on the IM to tight and it would not allow the TB to close once it warmed up.

Check the IAC valve.
This is a working IAC valve

If yours is bad I do have one for sale. I used it for a week (brand new from Autozone) until I did a FIAV delete.

+2 i was also a victim of this.

i kept checking it while the car was cold :ohdamn:.. check when hot :thumb:

I would check your throttle cable to ensure it is not sticking. Also check the butterfly valve in your TB to make sure that is not sticking as well. If both are fine, do a boost leak test with lots soapy water. If all that checks out, check your Idle Air Control solenoid located under the TB. And last thing I can think of is check your timing to ensure it is 5º BTDC.

Fixed up the idle, its idling at 700rpm now which is good since the weather is pretty hot, it does fall down to 550-600 sometimes but for now its all good, shouldn't hurt. I also loosened up the throttle since it seemed to be a little stiff, I haven't had a chance to drive it since I played with the idle, hopefully it fixes everything.
