1G Idle surge

I have been reading up on idle surge and have been trying to track down the problem causing it. The issue i am having that after the car is warmed up i will get idle surge when i come to a stop. But it only lasts for between 3-5 surges, and then smooths out to normal idle. So i am having a hell of a time tracking down if its a vacuum line. The throttle body is spotless, just cleaned it. Suggestions.

Usually the IAC or idle air control. Pain in the butt to diagnose if there are other underlying probs. Its on the throttle body not the TPS "throttle position sensor" try tapping it with the handle of a srewdriver . If it changes the surge, the thing is weak .

I would do that, but by the time i get under the hood once the surge starts, it smooths out.
