Idle surge problem

Me and my buddy just finished replacing my blown head gasket on my dsm tonight. We had the head machined and got all new gaskets, theres no leaks, the timing belt is on correctly. well when we took it out for a test drive, my idle was at 2500 Rpm. It has never been that high before. I have had a problem with my IAC motor, but its never had my rpms that high. The most its done is like 1900 rpm. Does anyone know what could be the problem? i really dont think its the iac motor. Much needed help! Thanks

Just adjust your idle screw in throttle body and see if that helps also chick and make sure you don't have any bubbles in the radiator and look fir vacuum leaks and check and make sure your getting coolant to the iac

OP. Please don't do this. Follow the vfaq for proper biss adjustments. Posts like these are why our cars run like crap. Do it the right way, or pay someone who knows these cars to do it the right way.

Definitely check for vac lines in the wrong spot or do a boost leak test. ISC motor could definitely be it but you may want to pull it off and look for black marks as signs of burning (i know usually they spike up and down in between 800-1900rpms normally) Still a possibility you need to check. You don't need a Pro to do that. Idle... well I've definitely adjusted it before but you need to be careful. If you can't figure it out on here and VFAQ (definitely check that wealthpot of knowledge) then take it to a shop that KNOWS dsms.

I would start with boost leak test first if your on stock rubber pipes and smic.
