idle air control question...

will the 2g isc work in a 1g throttle body? because i switched them when i put my 1g tb on my 2g and the idle would go up and down and wouldnt stop. im getting a p0505 and i know my 2g isc is good because i had no problems with it b4 i switched the tb.
 
no i didn't measure anything... i tried replacing the 1g with the 2g a while ago and it didn't work the idle would flair and drop flair and drop and it wouldnt stop. i put the 1g back in, the almost stalling at idle went away and i cleared the code, and it was running great for a few months and it never came back on untill this weekend when i put my magnus intake manifold on, now it idles at 1000 rpm when i first start the car but after driving for a bit it idles anywhere from 1500 to 1850ish.
 
Increased idle speed when the motor warms up is often due to the throttle cable being too tight. Loosen it up just a bit and see if that helps.

The idle fluctuations that you are describing could very well be the ISC motor doing it's job. If you are getting too much/not enough air past the throttle plate when it's closed then the ISC has to work harder in an attempt to maintain idle within a normal range. Of course this is stressing it out and may lead to burned out coils (in the ISC). Do some searching on idle surge for more info.

I would start with a boost leak test and fix all leaks. Test the ISC coils. Then try loosening the throttle cable a tad and see what kind of results you get.

good to know, thanks for the info... unfortunately that issue will have to wait because on my way home about an hour after posting my original question i popped my head gasket.... ohh boy.:cry:
