2G IAC sensor

Hello lads,

It's been a long since I haven't post anything on this fórum, due to work and stuff. Sorry about that, because that's the only trusty dsm fórum I have found in the whole web.

Right now I drive a Nissan 350Z daily, but I own a '96 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2G GS NA with 4G63 (european) engine that I'd like to repair and conserve.

Months ago, I made a post where I explained that I have an acceleration cut from 3000 RPM to 3500 RPM with the engine beeing cold. As the engine gets warm, the acceleration cut rises at 4000-4500 RPM, even 5000-5500 RPM.

Well, I didn't solve the problem. I changed my MAF but it remained the same.

Right now, I've taken out my throttle body and I spotted an extremely burned IAC:

I want to change my IAC valve, my Throttle position sensor and my Thermal sensor as well.

The problem I'm facing is that I can't find any similar IAC valve as mine. I just found those kind of valves:

I found those kind of valves from rockauto and similar shops, but I don't know If they are made for my car or not, as most American DSM wear the 420a Engine, and rockauto warns me that all their pieces are made for American cars.

Could you give me a hand about it? Does the GST valve fit in my car too?

If you have the 4g63 engine in it the a GST IAC valve should work

Is your IAC 4 pin or 6 pin or is it completely different? The 4 pin models look like they have a metal pintle where the turbo 6 pin units have a composite pintle. I would go with the one with the correct pins, do you happen to have a picture....its worth a thousand words so if you can, post up one of your IAC.

To not open a new thread i'll ask here. Does someone knows ths part number for 97 turbo isc/iac valve? I need one and i have some hard time to find what i need. Thanks

I've ordered a few from here. Never a problem. You def want the black top. In case you don't know by now, the black top IAC was on later dsms and all 3sis.

Thanks a lot guys. I ended up ordering the one from ebay. That's way i was asking for a part number. The one from ebay for example has another part number but i think it will work. I had hard time to find what i need and be sure is the right part becauae of this thing with to many models and part numbers

The EU 2G Eclipse has the same IAC motors as the US 2G turbo models. So if you can find a broken/parts car near you that will work.

Brown one is MD614368.

Black one is MD628051.

MD628053 is the alternate part # for the blacktop IAC on 3000gt/stealths. Mitsu started putting the revised IAC on 3sis before DSMs. The tan top IAC has led to the frying of many ecus. If you replace the IAC and still have symptoms, check the ecu for melted caps.

Thanks again guys. Very helpful. My iac/isc is working still but not the way it should. The coils are ok but the mechanical part is damaged and it's not moving as much as it should.
