I went to the junk yard (speakers)

I went to the junk yard today and picked up a "new" speaker to replace one that was rattling in my front passenger side. It came from a talon... however it appears to be about an inch bigger than what is in my GS... the screw holes for the mounting bracket dont line up perfectly, (only 3 of them do) its secure, I'm just wondering if this is gonna run into any electrical issues due to the single larger speaker...???

I highly doubt it, it could draw more power but I assume the radio/head unit will output a fixed amount of current at the neccessary frequency to provide the proper sound. Im not an electrical engineer but I would bet the only noticable change would be a change in sound when compared to the other speakers. Either way the difference will be negligable.

If your really worried about it I would pull the speaker from the other door and see what the Ohms reading is. speakers are ushually rated by the Ohms of the coil and the amperage rating (if I remember correctly). Then compare the two to see what the real difference will be.

Thanks, I pulled the bracket from a tsi and I'm pretty sure it has the infinity sound package cause there were 6x9s in the back, sadly the other speakers were all trashed, but this one was perfect... dont ask why. So now I just need to re drill a hole to make the 4th screw fit and I can
Oh and I have an aftermarket deck, so hopefully you're right, just wanted a second opinion.

now when you get some RF 3-way 6x9's and some subs id be worried!
