I turn the Key off but the car wont turn off...

I have been turning my key off and the car wont turn off... does anyone have any Ideas what the problem could be..

the car is a a 95 tsi awd...

Not really sure what the problem would be, but how do you get your car to turn off?

Starter may be going bad. Happened to me, if your a stick just pop the clutch in first it should die, if your auto then disconnect the battery carefully. You should give some more info, this doesn't really help much.

Turbo Timer?? , it's probably not that but if you happen to be new with these cars and the car came with one, it would be a suprise to me too...Sorry if I misjudged you, good luck with your problems

wow i hope its not a problem with the ignition tumbler or something with the 2g ignition i have a 6bolt but still i have the 95 tsi stock ignition.



is ## car still running? if its turbo'd take the upper intercooler pipe lose from the BOV, ## car will die.

TURBO TIMER!!! or if its not that, it could be something up at the ignition cylinder bridging between the 12v constant and ignition wires. do you have some kind of remote starter in your car? if so it could have its own turbo timer function like mine does so even if you turn the greddy turbo timer off it will keep running and you wouldnt know. if this is the case hitting the brake SHOULD shut it off. hope that helps

It can't be his turbo timer...notice his profile, he has a decent amount of mods to know if he left his turbo timer running or not.

This is the first I've heard about removing the car key and the car still running with exception of a turbo timer...Does the car turn off eventually? after a few secs, minutes, hours?

Does this happen every time you remove the car keys? or once a month? or has it happen only once and you just freaked out because the turbo timer was off...?

You know if this is happening everytime you remove the car keys and then after a min it turns off, then maybe you should sell your turbo timer and get some money

A turbo timer is an electronic part and can fail as quick as a 1g ecu.

I suggest unhooking the tt and see if the problem is remedied.

Alright guys... sorry i didnt have time to post all the facts... here is what i can tell you about the car

The mod list on the car has completely changed since what is in my profile...

its pretty much a 60-1 car with EVERY supporting mod imaginable except an SMIM...

Now here is the problem... I disconnected the turbo timer because i thought that could be the problem and well... its not...

I am not quite sure what the problem could be...

the car does it EVERY single time and does not shut off..

if i turn the key off all the lights and etc turn off like the car is off, but it keeps on running... I'm running out of ideas on what could be wrong with it.. If you guys can think of ANYTHING please let me know

well it should be out of gas by now, but if it IS still running i told you unhook your upper intercooler pipe from the BOV and ## car should die.

i dont think he wants to know how to shut it off he wants to know how to fix it, and alot easier than taking the ic piping off he could just unplug the mas and rev it up and it would die

Ignition relay. There's a fancy time-delay ignition relay, and a separate one for the coils & fuel pump and other engine stuff you actually want to go off when the key is turned off...

Probably the key switch or the relay is missing a ground wire. It happens sometimes generally when you modify your engine bay. For example pulling your engine or wiring anything.
