so after almost 3 months i fainally have my car running good and i love it. when it kept braking every other day i was tempted to get rid of it. i am sooooo glad i didnt. my car is running great idles perfect finally shifts well. i think i am hooked from here on out

its worth it. the only problem im having is im running a little hot i think. my gauge stays at about half on the water temp. i just ordered a mishimoto radiator i thinkk that will take care of it. everything else is newfor the cooling. 160 degree stat, new water pump, flushed 3 times. if that doesnt get it im going to order to slimline fans

Haha thats how it always happens, when a DSM runs right it is love all over again. I remember there were times I'd be sitting at a red light and I would find my self caressing my steering wheel LOL. Then when the light would change I would get on her just enough to feel that turbo spool and then I would sit back and relax. AH great feeling. Enjoy the car sir.

dude I tried selling my 92 gsx like 4 times before I finally got it running right. Then I was incredibly happy when it started everyday and ran like a champ, you couldn't have paid me to get rid of it...till I got bored with it cause it wasn't breaking anymore. LOL. Then I traded it for my 2g which doesnt have a single thing wrong with it, so of course I had to pick up a spare motor to rebuild.

its a love/hate relationship man. Then one day you're gonna LOVE to hate your car.

These cars are awesome no doubt about that, And I've already done a motor swap in mine and takin off the transmission, replaced transmissioin seals, PCV valve, Valve Cover, Water Pump, Head Fully rebuilt, new clutch master and slave cylinder, New ISC, New FMIC, and a new turbo. Lol too much work. I finally drove her the other day and wow let me tell you so worth all of the trouble. But I broke a banjo bolt so now she is down again

Congrats man. Right now I am to the point where I love to hate my car. Soon it will be back running and I will actually love driving it again. I just want to get it on the road so I can start saving up for a GSX or a TSi AWD. Happy driving.

Drove mine for a month, crank walked didnt drive it for a year till i got it together again. Been driving it for a year an half and love it.

On another note i was running a 160 stat, its not needed unless you live in a really hot state where its about 100 regularly. I got my dsm link and my coolant temps never hit above 170 which you think would be good except: you never go into closed loop mode. You want your coolant temps to be between like 180 and 193 or something in that area. I took my 160 out an put a 180 or 185 what ever it is and changed my o2 sensor to get the computer to go into closed loop mode and my gas mileage was a lot better. Just a tid bit i felt like sharing.

This thread sounds like me, after 4 months of gathering up parts tearing down rebuilding got it running(ran like crap). Everytime i turned around there was something wrong i wanted to sell but then i relized i will never learn that way. I got a new WGA after fuel cut for 2 weeeks and man am i in love now it just the body.

I made the mistake of leaving, it hasnt even been a month and im about to buy a blow 1g to rebuild... LOL

Enjoy the times your car will behave good and withstand the down times.
In the end you'll have fun regardless, these cars are pretty fun when working.

"Don't sell your car man you will regret it seriously. Little problems here and there you can deal with. Just fix them right and you will love the car to death"

i know i have so many little problems but im really impatient and thats not a good thing when working on these cars

the dsm will test you, only the strong will survive the trials and tribulations.. I have been tempted to sell many times in the past couple years but I can't let go. Every time I look at it in the right light I'm like arn't I lucky to have one. And just today I had a couple kids in the backseat of their parents car just glued to mine, I'm like yeeeea that was me at that age. A guy offered me $10,000 (double the market value) in cash when my t-25 blew and I couldn't drive it for like 3 months, and the stupid parts took forever to arrive and I had to move I'm like duh just take the money but I had to reconsider.. not regreting that decision one bit.
