99 GSX.. I removed my ECU this morning because I planned on buying an eprom ecu and get it socketed by the guys at ecm for DSMlink.. However, when I removed the ecu it had a sticker on it with some guys name, phone number and injector size With Eprom written on the top. I've seen this before on a friends talon that had DSMlink.. So am I in luck? I didn't have time to open the fugger, I was called into work. But if it is, will I still be able to download the software for my laptop or is that frowned upon because I didn't buy it?

The car came with 2 cables, One from the obd2 port that says datalogger2002 and has a laptop connector at the end, that connects to another wire for a palm data logger. Thanks for the help tuners

EDIT -RESOLVED- I did NOT have ecmlink (future upgrade) All I had to do was remove the ecu from behind radio (99 GSX) and post pictures. Thanks everyone

If if it is a dsmlink chip. Contact ecmlink via email. Tell them your the new owner of a used dsmlink providing them with your full name, emailaddress, desire user name and dsmlink chip id number and serial so that they can create an acount for you so you can access thier forum.

Meant to say, its a golden box, metal. Ill open her up in about an hour. Im really hoping for DSMlink it'll be an early birthday present :D (April 14th ill be 22!)

And the harness looked a little buthered and ghetto

I wouldn't get your hopes up, especially if you're talking about connecting to a Palm. Link never natively used a Palm as it is a logger and tuning platform all in one that required a laptop.

Most likely it'll be something like this (i.e. Keydiver custom chip).

Awh don't tell me that, maybe the po used palm as a simple logger on the go just to quickly monitor how things are going? Or is that not possible with link installed? And also, Lets say there was a tune set on the car, and for 7 years it was never turned on or even had a battery installed that whole time, will the tune "lose memory?"

Using a Palm with a link required using some code that was custom developed. Yes, it's possible, but highly unlikely. I can't say I know of that many people who used it.

Also, being a 2g owner, if you don't have this adapter (key to a v2 link setup), you don't have link.

Well, did worked.. I reinstalled the ECU and tried starting it, nothing.. Im getting spark and the fuel pump is turning on, however Im not getting any fuel pressure. I manually turned on the fuel pump for 10 seconds and tried starting, it sputtered then died. Im thinking my aeromotive FPR is faulty I've been having the P1105 code for months now, fuel pressure solenoid.. Might need a new fpr now?

If you have an aeromotive your fuel pressure solenoid shouldn't be hooked up anymore. The P1105 code is just for the solenoid not for the FPR. If the solenoid is hooked up try just running the vacuum line directly to the FPR and bypass the solenoid.

Well yeah the vacuum line is directly to the regulator, from the throttle body.. I think. Why do Yu think im not getting fuel, yet the pump turns on? Regulator not holding up and just cycling fuel? Or would it show atleast a little bit of pressure? Kinda happened out of nowhere.

If you have dsm link it prob look something like this.
