So for the last few weeks now ive been goin out on the weekend and doing some pretty hard launches and also speed shifting the crap out of my car. Today on the way to school the shifter felt tight and was slightly stiff to shit so i just shifted slow and didnt rag on it. Well after school i hop in and the shifter wont even budge. All gears are hard as heck to get to i had to pull and push the crap out of the shifter to get home. Do you think it finally died and its time for a TRE!!:)

Does it feel like the clutch is acting up or is it the gears themself that feel screwed up?

That would be really awkward if all the gears went out at once that quick... Maybe it is the clutch like homeboy said.... I had some similar problems before I adjusted my clutch... but not all at once like you are describing...

My motor mounts are cracked (just the rubber) but not broken and no trans fluid leaked out, I just put in new synchromesh like 400 miles ago. Shift cables look alright. As far as clutch Im not sure. Its a Fidanza 6 puck with 8lb. flywheel, but like 2 weeks ago I took out my pedal assembly to weld it but it was fine so i just welded the nut so it woulndt back off, but the master was giving me probs. It feels like its sticking almost. Like 1/2 inch from fully comming back. So im not sure. Anyone know. I really dont want to build a trans if I dont have to. Even though I wouldnt mind

If you are having problems with your master cylinder for the clutch that will be the problem.. Its probably not disengaging the clutch right... Try bleeding the clutch system and see if that helps... remember, start with cheapest fix first.... if you have air in the clutch system, then it wont work right....

PS... Those motor mounts being cracked like that will cause the motor to rock back and forth off its pinion angle when you go to shift real fast and hard... It will put alot more stess on the synchros.... I would fix them ASAP... or just drive softer till you can

I put a vacuum bleeder on the clutch like a week ago and sucked all new fluid through the whole thing. The clutch felt way better. But it wasnt having probs until I started launching this weekdn and speed shifting the crap out of it. Also if i pull on the shift arms on the trans the should move shouldnt they. Mine are really sticky

Try lubing them with WD40... the only reason I am saying to check everything first is because with cable shifters, alignment tends to be a problem... In my experience at least.... I just dont see how a couple of hard launches and shifting would make the whole tranny seize up.... where you grinding through the gears? Where they real tough or shaking the shifter when you were speed shifting? Take the cables off and check to see if the shifter arms on the tranny move....

the last time that happened to me, the rubber piece in the bottom of the shifter came "out" and was preventing good shifter motion... just a thought

Ok i think its just my shift cables. I just went out and pulled on the shift arms and they were fine. The shifter is way farther back in 2nd and 4th so i thinki streched a cable. Does this sound about right.

Where can I get a set of new shift cables without going through the dealer and gettin charged out the a-hole. Im gonna start there and see what happens. Im also going to get a set of poly motor mounts.

I would check the slave and master cylinder to see if they're leaking. I'm not sure about the cables though. Pull back the boot on the slave and just look for leaking fluid on the firewall for the master. Have you checked the clutch fluid reservoir?
