I need to know what your ideas on this problem might be. I am having a problem with a popping noise comming from the passenger side wheel. It only happens when the wheels are turned very sharp and on an incline or decline, like pulling out of an uneven driveway. Its one or two little pops and thats it, one of my freinds said it might be something to do with an axel and a boot? I have no clue.. but I could really use you guys help on this one because im lost.

could be the axle joint.....did you have the ball joint recall done yet???, could be that also... :dsm:

Probably CV joint--how many miles since the front drive half-shafts were replaced & what is the condition of the rubber boots? Another possibility is the front stabilizer bar bushings are worn down.
From under the car, use your strong hand to move the bar around, watch where the bar ends are mounted for motion & listen for clunks--might need to tighten &/or replace the rubber bushings, ditto for the halfshaft--if you can make it flop around like a jump rope when the wheel is not turning, the you can imagine how it jump ropes around when the car is driven. It's possible the that the rubber boots on the halfshafts were replaced before, trying to save 1 peso by not replacing the entire halfshaft--these are very inexpensive.
Lastly, jack up the wheel off the ground & grab the tire at the # & ( o'clock postions & see if you can wiggle the tire--if you can, you will need to tighten the wheel bearing mounting nut--the one under the cap in the center of the wheel spindle.

Have a front-end shop check it over. I suspect a balljoint or suspension pickup point. They'll know what to look for.

With it coming on only in twisting, I'd not expect it to be an axle.

Where can I get some literature on the Ball Joint Recall, so I can take it to satan and show them. Thanks. :)

Well I just had an interesting hour... I called around to see where i could get these recals done, and I finally found somewhere. I first called mitsu, big mistake, they pretty much said #### talons we dont mess with them. Then i called the dealership in Longwood Fl, where i got the car, and asked them to give me a number maybe where i can have these taken care of, he was being so rude i couldnt take it and i just hung up. THEN I called one of the local chrystler dealers and asked him to do the recall, and he said , and i quote "we dont do the recalls on cars that old"... w t f. I called another crystlet dealer and they hooked me up, im taking it in on monday to get the recall done, AND he is replacing my ticking purge selenoid for FREE!! How kick ass is that? Well thanks for the help guys, I will keep you posted. :D
