So you can download ecmlink v3 of dsmlink.com Since it's the actual software, can I buy the v3 cable and a socketed ecu?

no. you have to have a ecm or dsm or what ever you would like to call it chip. you cant just use a socketed ecu with just any chip it has to be there chip

You need the chip and cable from them to run ecmlink. The software is free on their website. The socket ECU is needed for the ecmlink chip. ECMTuning, Inc.

Yeah I know that, so I thought buying there 245 socketed chip came with it?

Not sure what your question is. You need a ECU that has been socketed. The chip is then put into the ECU socket. Ecmlink can do the socketing job for you when you order ecmlink from them.
