Alright so I bought my 2G last summer. I noticed on the highway when I'de slow down immediately or stop on the highway then all of a sudden my my engine would rev high all of a sudden even though I just stoped. I thought this was wierd. Well my Dad was the one who took the initial test drive and bought the car for me. I saw it online and told him to check it out since I go to school in Canada. He's in MN. So anyways I start looking through a file the previous owner had on the car and they even had the same thing happen and try to get it fixed well obviously nothing they did at the Mitsu dealership worked.
Well I've had this car up here in Canada and despite the cold it's still been running alright. I did post awhile ago about my complaints on the gas mileage with 89-90grade gas I was getting something like 13-16 mpg in the summer I dunno what I'm getting now since I haven't been on the highway for awhile. This is all sad to me since a 5.7L V8 camaro gets like 18-21mpg. I dont understand this at all since everything I read on it I thought I'de at least be getting in the 20s. 19-27 since thats what it seems to be in every review. So I'm guessing something wrong with my car but this sounds the same as some other people I read on edmunds. I need to do some bodywork since my roomate backed into my nice car, and bearings. Roads suck in Winnipeg and I doubt they are helping along with getting a little alignment.
But seriously what should I do? I like the car not the most comfortable ride by any means bumpy and seats suck. The power is nice but I must admit it kinda sucks getting this shitty of gas mileage. Especially on other AWD turbo cars who get much better gas mileage. What do you guys think is wrong or is there anything better I could do to this car? I read awhile back a girl I think put a Hyundai engine into her eclipse or talon is this a good pair up or what are some other engines that would work well in a TSI? I believe my turbo is still alright so that would be nice to attach too but what are my options I'de like to keep my car but it's getting to get too damn costly to fill up with non regular and getting only like 13mpg since all I'm doing now is city driving. Or could a 90s neon 2.0L 150 hp I4 work? and hook up my turbo, I really have no clue about any of this.
