I NEED HELPP

So I lost my keys at work called few lock smith and they say the most they can do is roll the cylinder to take out the ignition I went to go try find new ignition to replace it and I can only find one for 95 2 gen Eclipse I have 1 gen 94 Eclipse would I be able to use the 2 gen lock cylinder on my 1 gen 94 eclipse

I assume this means the car is unlocked?
In the past ive been able to take a door handle to a locksmith and they made a key for it.
You should be able to do the same.
