Okay first off, I'm completely open to any flaming, suggestions, tips, or anything you would like to put.

Alright my 2g GST has 144k on the clock as it sits. Its bone stock (basically) with a FP 17psi wastegate actu. and a dirty ass cone air filter.

I'm planning on starting to mod my car now and get it rebuilt around next summer around to factory specs but with maybe a slightly higher compression and some cams. Heres where my questions come into play.

First off TURBO! I'm getting rid of the t25 and going with the big t28 ported and clipped with 13k on it. Then for exhaust im going iwth the thermal with a megan downpipe and a test pipe. For clutch im going with ACT 6 puck disc with the ACT streetlite flywheel. For the intake im going with the injen with a k&n filter with the Greddy type-s bov. I'm also getting a FMIC that is a Spearco 29x6x3.

What else will I need to complete this or to make it perform more? Fuel upgrades? I know i will need a boost controller, but what else? I have been hearing that i could use the stock injectors because if i went with 550's it would run too rich and i would have to lean it out about 20%. But should I get a new fuel pump? If so what size?

I'm open to anything, suggest away.

fuel upgrades:

190 lph w/rewire kit
550cc injectors
SAFC

you wont need to replaces the stock FPR with the 190. i used to have the big t28 from AGP and my setup i ran a rewired 255hp, charged air AFPR, SAFC, and stock injectors. i was able to run 19psi pump gas all day long with 25+ degrees timing and no knock. whatever you choose to do, good luck with it.

if the turbo you are buying is used, make sure you check for shaft play and any imperfections on the compressor blades. also, make sure there are no nicks/scratches inside the compressor cover itself.

happy boosting.

BT28s are nice turbos to use while modding hte car, they are potenet ittle beast that do not require any mods to work. But yet on the flip side the more mods you get the better they get. I got my BT28 used for a good cost. And have used it to get my car to a point which I think im ready for a bigger turbo.

Its hard to say what to get in what order, just curious what budget do you have to get upgrades? How much is the used turbo? and do you have a laptop?

the guy who i bought the turbo off of had 550's on his TSI and they had to lean it out 20% while it was on the dyno...... Would it make a huge difference if i ran the stockers for now and then later changed them?

just changing the injectors will do minimal (maybe even make it slower). However tuning the bigger injectors and running more boost will make a big difference.

no im sitting in CAD in HS hahahahahahaha, and the turbo has 13k

I really don't have a budget but.........you know....

With the upgraded turbo you're going to want to go with bigger than stock injectors ike 550's to make it worthwile, . and you WILL need something to tune it with like an SAFC.

As far as the engine rebuild it seems like with your goals compression and cams don't really need to be at the top of the list, your turbo/air/fuel mods will be the most important starting off.

You would probably do fine with an ACT 2100 clutch, if you really wanted something a little more overkill, there's the 2600.

Also, don't know if i saw a logger listed in there anyhere?

Thats why I asked if he had a laptop. I would recommend DSMlink over a logger and SAFC combo.

If I had a few thousand to spend:

-turbo(assume $500 buying it used from a friend) BT28 just to get it going espically if the price is good.
-DSMlink($750) for fuel management and logging. but you need a laptop
-injectors/ FP($500) get what you want with DSMlink. I have seen 1000cc injectors on a T25 before, then a common walbro, a 190 will work for now and you can keep the stock FPR.
-BOV($40) 1G BOV and adapter flage to work with factory UICP (or buy pipes and get a descent BOV for a few hundered). But get rid of the stock POS
-boost controller(@250.00 or buy used) you want a dual stage boost controller being you are FWD, If I would have not had a boost controller when I got the DSMlink I would go for the turbo XS dual stage (with ball and spring 1st stage, it cost about $20 more). With DSMlink, you can wire up a turboXS dual stage to the FPR solenoid and use the nitrous controls in DSMlink to automatically control the high/ low boost based off of RPM, speed, knock, ect. The Greddy Prof B can not be wired into DSMlink this way. But they do sell a hi/low control button that can mount to your steering wheel.
-exhaust (Price varies between 200 for the build it yourself with a magnaflow to 1000 for a apex/RRE setup), the downpipe was a big power adder with my BT28, just get a good 3" turbo back or a 3" catback with downpipe and testpipe or cat.
-intake(150-200) intake pipe and filter. Price can vary depending on where you get it, type and wetiher it new or used. I like to buy used dejon pipes for cheap and then couple it to a adapter plate and cone filter.

And thats the order I would do if I had to do it again. about the time you get the this point your clutch will be hating life. so figure that in soon.

im going to go ahead and get the fmic and injectors and have the turbo put on at once. Then for my bday (jan) im going to be saving up on the side for clutch and flywheel because mine already is a stocker with around 60k and has been given hell for quite a while.

With this though im going to have to do it mod by mod right now because i don't really have a budget i just don't have the money....crappy job = crappy pay but mommy and daddy are sometimes nice LOL.

oh also where can i find a test pipe? i tried going to dejons webisite but i couldn't get to it. could someone give me a link?

550's with a 190 fuel pump? what about a fuel rail?

i would put in some new cams and cam shaft along with vales and valuve springs definty especailly if your going that hard core

my friend does have dsmlink, would i still need to get a safc?

what would you guys recommend for a boost controller? let me guess with the 550's, the 190, and the t28 my gas mileage is going to go :notgood:?

earlier when i said fmic and injectors i meant fuel pump, will it be totally necessary to do the injectors right now since their so damn expensive?

im not going hardcore yet... im wanting a good daily driver from 230-300whp thats reliable, later on when i get my next car im going to keep the gst and build the crap out of it. Like I have said, i'm wanting a daily driver that i can still have loads of fun with on the weekends

Dang cams AND A camshaft Where in his setup is he going hardcore. FP red is harcore not a t-28. Cams and camshaft are the same thing bud. Your gas mileage might even go up with a good tune. I know Im getting 12 mpg with no tune on 660's with no tune. Hoping to add atleast 6-8 mpg with a good tune.

Alright, serious question...

What will i need to install the new t28? Its a FP t28

everyone has their own opnion on what to replace when swaping turbos. I like to play it safe and swap everything. new oil return gaskets (inspect the oil return line if questionable replace it now). new water line crushwashers if the water lines are removed. new turbo to mani, turbo to 02, and o2 to down pipe gaskets (the last one is only if yoru removing the downpipe. Also if the turbo has never came off before, then replace that stupid stud from the turbo to mani with a bolt and 2 washers from mitsu (like the other 3 are). Buy a can or 2 of PB blaster to help with the rusted bolts, and besure to use antiseize when reassembling everything.

Also know that you are starting to make power in a GST I highly suggest new solid motormounts (prothanes are really good IMHO, much better than the ES) and at $80 they are not that expensive of a upgrade.

A few 6 point sockets/wrenchs will prevent (or make it less likely) you from to striping exhaust bolt heads unlike the 12 point one sometimes do.
