... i have a 97 talon n/t. i wanted to put a 4g63 in it, i know some people and i can get a motor really cheap, but i dont have the mechanical skills to put it in, so how much would a shop charge to put it in? if i do put a new motor init, wont it cause problems for the car, make it less reliable? any help or thoughts are appriciated thanks

:talon:

putting any new part into a car that wasn't originally there has the POTENTIAL to cause problems... As far as the 4g63...MANY MANY MANY of us have done the swap or had the swap done without any problems...As long as everything is hooked up correctly, you shouldn't have much of a problem at all...You'll just have to iron out the kinks like any time you do something drastic to a car...As for the price...All shops are different...They'll charge you parts and labor...If your gonna do that try to get the parts before hand for cheaper...But then ur still looking at a nice bill for the labor

ah alright...just wondering why you would want to replace a non turbo engine with another non turbo....unless your motors blown....g/l with the swap :dsm:
