I hope this isnt a basic question: GVR4 ?'s

Hey everyone, I hope this is not considered a "basic question" because I wasnt 100% where to put it. If this is in the wrong section please forgive my error and move it to the proper one. Thanks!

OK, I am in the market for a Galant VR4 and plan to buy one within the next 2 weeks. My questions are:

1. What is the difference in the engines from a 1G talon or Gsx, if any? Will any parts from them fit this one without problem?

2. What are the first steps to take with this car to begin modding it?

3. Is there anything to be aware of with this particular car or its engine or important things that need to be done before modding to avoid problems?

The basic motor is thesame with just some of the accessories and bolt ons being different, such as the intake, water neck, A/C bracket ect... When buying a used DSM I would always say do the maintenance stuff first. especially if there are no records with it. Timing belt,bsb/ten, plugs wires, ect.
