These are my brights, the other day one of my headlights went out, so i ran brights mostly on the way back from Milwaukee on a divided highway. This morning I turned them on and both were running then one flashed and went out. I discovered this. Anyone have any idea what could cause that?

Check your breakers. If someone put a huge over amp fuse in control of your headlamps then it leaves the voltage unregulated, hence why if there was a short or surge of juice it would easily melt those.

When you installed them they might not have been flush and rubbed against the housing. Is there any signs of the inside of the lens housing being burnt or distorted? Were you spraying any lubricants (like wd-40) near the housing that could have leaked in?

sometimes a higher watt after market bulb may get to hot and possibly do that. I have never seen that and you would think that your fuse would have blown first for them to have gotten that hot. i would try and trace some wiring and see what you can find. maybe go back with stock bulbs?

Alternator going out. Voltage regulator, when my sons voltage regulator went south the voltage spiked burning out the low beams, and cooked the battery. Check the your voltage output.

I had something similar happen to me, my headlights ended up grounding out inside the wiring harness and burnt it up which caused just my headlights to go out but I still had brights, mine lights also just flashed all at once like you said yours had, wouldnt hurt to open up the harness and look for burnt wires, are there any other electrical pieces not working correctly?
