I have a mechanical boost gauge that has a single wire coming from the light and a single wire that connects directly to the chassis of the gauge itself. How can I wire this to work on the dimmer switch? I have seen many, many threads about gauges with two power/ one ground setups, but none about my situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a 2g or 1g? I never wired my light, because that tech article is 1g.

Either way, you can find the dimmer switch wires and use an analog voltometer and test which wire dims the lights and just tap into that. Thats what I did before I even saw any tech articles on how to do this.

I have figured it out, thanks guys for helping me out. I think I may have touched metal with one of the leads after I reconnected the battery causing the fuse to blow.
I don't know what it is about electronics but every time I try to do something I cause a problem somewhere else.
Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
