Trying to tune a little with some highway pulls, but keep getting counts of knock in the upper rpms.

Doesn't seem to matter how much I retard the timing or add fuel.

The pulls are near the 230 second mark and 500 second mark. 500 second mark was with current settings. (just added a little fuel)

Just need a little advice

I don't see your wideband being captured (unless I'm just missing it), and you aren't logging boost. It's pretty difficult to tell a lot without those.

Why are you tuning with the sliders and using stock DA tables?

Your MAFComp curve looks really strange.

You need to go WOT earlier, somewhere between 2500rpm to 3000rpm.

Does it make it a lot harder to tune if you don't have a map sensor to log boostest?

Logging a MAP sensor has nothing to do with BoostEst. That is a value created by the ECU.

You really should have either a MAP sensor or wideband logged for any meaningful results... preferably both for the best results.

Start reading my young padawan. :)

All of it...everything you can. :)

Just start on the first link "ECMLink 101" and go from there.

You'll find that most everyone here is willing to help you, but you have to do some homework on your own. Not many of us have the time (or desire) to hold someone's hand through the most basic stuff that is well-documented.

Get a handle on some of the basics, get your wideband showing up in the logs, and start working on getting your fuel trims and airflow calibrated. There are several tutorials, videos, and forum threads on how to do that. Then start worrying about WOT pulls. You have to crawl before you can walk and run. ;)

It seems like you need to read up on the what captured values actually mean to start with.

Like said above, boostest and afrratioest has nothing to do with a MAP or a Wideband.

Without those, or at least one of them, it's a crap shoot as we dont really know what is going on with your motor (as far as boost and actual AFR's)

start here:

wideband info:
widebandbasics [ECMTuning - wiki]

externalsensorinstall [ECMTuning - wiki]

MAP sensor info:

Trust me, I'm not running straight to the forums without doing any research myself.

There are just things that I've either missed or didn't find.

I'll see what I can do and come back later

I know this is hard to pay attention to during a pull, but was was your Air/Fuel ratio during WOT? And how much boost, and was it steady to redline?

That info wouldn't be of much use even if he knew, since airflow isn't calibrated yet. And, it needs to be logged so that he can compare actual AFR and the targeted AFR at each load/RPM point.

But I understand why you asked. :)

Also, was this in 3rd gear?

Air/Fuel is near 11.0 at WOT (I say near because it varies)

25lbs of boost steady but not quite to redline.. I see knock and let out usually around 6000 or so

I normally do 3rd gear pulls but the pulls in the log are 4th gear pulls on the highway.

Not trying to come off as an ass... just do a little bit more reading and then post up anything that needs clarification and we'll help you out. ;)

You're not coming off as an ass at all. It's just frustrating because the shit on ECMLink wiki can be rather vague

3rd gear is fine; no need to be hitting 105+ on a public highway.

I know. It just takes time man. There is a lot to learn.

Check out the demo video's also.

I always have luck looking at others logs (guys that are doing good dyno pulls etc.). Reading and searching and then going and applying what I just read. Small bits at a time as it can be overwhelming.

Good luck. And nice setup.
