hub bearing decisions

okay i have a bad wheel bearing its going to cost me 140 dollars for the stock hub bearings and 230 dollars for some more high rated ones should i just go with stock hub bearings or the more highly rated ones not really sure what to do

And yes ive searched the web but have not found any information on the difference between the two.

autozone i asked them the difference they just told the the warranty stock has a 1 year warranty and the more expensive ones have a three year warranty?

I would personally buy OE Mitsubishi bearings.

However, it would help if you told me what brand specifically Autozone is pricing you. Beck/Arnley, Moog and National, are all good solid manufacturers as far as I know. Stay away from autocraft, or whatever their inhouse brand may be.

Usually the biggest difference in price is the warranty that your paying for. Most of the time the parts are similar quality.

i know stock ones there selling are duralast and the other expensive ones are timken?

Time ken is 3yr and so is moog that I buy on ebay both work fine

I prefer autozone by mine is staffed by straight up knuckle heads! I use the moog items, I trust their brand and my whole suspension in my chevelle is moog.

i might just get the stock one do you have to press them in? because autozone told me you could use a rubber mallet but that doesnt seem right

Yes, you just need to tap the assembly into the knuckle using a rubber mallet (or hammer and a block of wood)
