How would this tire fit????

Hi, I am looking to keep the tires i have now and purchase new rims and have them swapped later. i have Bridgestone Potenza RE950s on my gsx right now which are 225/50/16. I have measured the rims diameter to be exactly 17" across. My question is does anyone know what the dimensions of the 17" wheel i can buy so they fit this tire?

I am saying this because now i see other people who have ran 16" rims with the same dimension tire. how is this possible????

there isnt 1 17in wheel that will have 16in tire fit on it. Buy some 16*7 wheels and you should be fine, either that or buy 17in tires and wheels.
