Ok I was wondering how will gloss black rims look on a dark gray car? I've seen some on a civic once and it didnt look half bad. what do you think?
yes :thumb: or no :notgood:

IMO, glossy rims look kinda tacky to me. I don't know why but they just do. Also, you will see more imperfections if you get curb rash/dents because the sheen will show it off. If possible, something like a satin finish would be best IMO.

it looks good if u take car of em

the gloss will look dirty if u drive without wiping them every day, and if u drive on dirt roads or driveways, forget about it

I've seen combo's like that and it looks sick. Especially if u do other lil stuff like tint to accent the rims............. :talon:

Keep the lips polished.
agreed. also, go satin finish i think. the gloss shows too much dirt/smudge marks, and not as easy to touch-up should it get scratched etc

I say gloss black. I see too many people where I live with flat black wheels and IMO doesn't look that good on most cars, though on dark grey it might look good. Try some photoshop and see how both look.

Ok i have another question for everyone. I've been thinking after the paint is done on my car "dark spiral gray metallic", I would like to get some vynle to add some contrast to the car. now what color(s) would look good on a dark gray car? My first intentions was a red but idk so im coming to my fellow dsmers for help. Let me know what you'll think

I don't want anybody to take offense to this because its only a personal opinion. I'm not a huge fan of vinals on all cars. I don't think a vinal should even be on a car unless it has a body kit and rims at least. The stock body lines just don't look good enough to throw that on. Another opinion is that dark grey paint looks sick enough and i can't think of a color other then black that goes with it good enough to make the car look anybetter then it already does. I'm not hatin, just givin an opinion.... :talon:

i agree with that, if you had painted it lite grey then id say a darker grey, so maybe black on your car. just make sure it doesnt look gaudy...keep it simple, esp on a stock body.

well my body isnt stock, i have a full drift bodykit and z3 fenders installed on my car. plus i have 17in glass black damani tech 5 rims.
