I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus Sxt Coupe an it has the 4G64 Sohc. An was wanting to know how to tell if it is a 6 bolt or a 7 bolt.

To my knowledge, the 4g64 is always a 7-bolt. The 6-bolt version is called a G4CS. Your stratus uses the same 4g64 found in the 3g Eclipse.

6-bolt 4g64 cam in early (1992 and earlier) Expo/Summit Wagon and Mighty Max/Dodge D-50's. After that they were 7-bolts

It is a 7 bolt. I have the same block.

Remember that if you plan a dohc swap, that the dsm cylinder head WILL NOT fit, you need to use a evo 8/9 head.

Uh it actually fits, and you end up having the intake manifold in the front and exhaust mani in the rear of engine bay. its been done before.

Another option is 02 Hyundai sonata head besides the evo head.

Alright yes you are right. I've seen it done before myself, but it requires more fab work and in the end would be easier and relatively the same cost to simply put in an evo head. They can be found for a good price on evom now.

Thanks. Shepard trans also told me that the f5m42 was also built like the evo trans also. An It is a 16 valve setup. Why whats up with it. An info can be use full. Because I am thinking of trying to evoing the car an already have a rear differential for me to start on going awd.
