How to take out fuel filter?

Can someone give me steps on how to take out my fuel filter on a 97 gs eclipse? it is located in the back by the gas tank under the back seat.
I see a rubber boot after i pull that off if there anything i need to know? like will gas spill alot? or will the bolts be a pain to take off?

No, Its on the firewall, i believe the N/T is on the drivers side firewall.

Really? someone told me its under the rubber boot below the back seat? if thats not it then what is under that rubber boot?

Ok so for the 97 it is under the hood on the driver side right.
