My car takes awhile to start, it will crank for a few seconds and then start, This happens on every start, unless i shut it off and start it again in a few minutes like if im getting gas or something.

This means its not holding fuel pressure. I have a fuel labs afpr and a rewired walbro 255. I was wondering how to prime it?

this video is what im talking about:YouTube - ‪DSM Exhaust‬‎

Im wondering how to get it to prime when the key is in the on position.

thanks guys

I had a simular problem and was told that my return line might be restrictive. I never got around to replacing it cause problem just went away. Also to prime I was told to just turn your key to the on possition with out turning it on try that.

yeah i tried that and nothing happens? because on the 2gs, the ecu doesnt tell it to prime when the key is in the "on" position, it primes when it starts cranking. thats why mine cranks for a second or two. I want to wire it to a wire that comes on in the "on" position, and stays on while the car is running, then shuts off when you shut the car off.

This is fairly common after a fuel pump replacement. Alot of the times the oring that seals the pump outlet to the fuel line isn't installed correctly (ie crocked) & doesn't make a perfect seal, so you lose line pressure quicker then normal. If you have a fuel pressure gauge, how quickly does it bleed back to zero?

There is also a rare chance that your FPR is defective or that you have another install issue with your setup.

As stated above, you need to make certain the oring for your pump outlet isn't leaking, which most will if you aren't careful when putting the pump into the "hood". This is what is causing you to lose fuel pressure. Now, to prime your pumps, you will need ECU control (ecmlink or a burnt EPROM). The OEM code starts priming the pump when the ecu sees the CAM ANGLE SENSOR start spinning.

Whatever you do, do not switch the trigger on the ecu with the "on" pos from the ignition. that is a def no no. Like it was said above me you need to get some type of management to to tell the ecu to prime before you crank. My car does it and i will agree with you it sounds sick. i have an ems though and i wouldnt spend a cool 1200 to get the pump to prime. consider your goals with the car for hp and then descide what engine management you want.
