how to oil engine when on engine stand

I have the bottom off my block on my engine stand and just need my head on. How should i keep my block oiled? It has the oil pan on it and block, no head?
I has been months with out oil in it? They did put the front pump case on for me as well. I would like all the info and help i can get. Thanks
